HBO feature-length documentary “Run Granny Run.” Doris “Granny D” Haddock is the nation’s oldest political newcomer. A former housewife and office assistant, Doris, at the age of 90, laced up her sneakers and walked across America to rally against the influence of big money in elections. Her epic journey galvanized popular attention to a political system gone awry. A tale of doggedness versus dollars, grit against greenbacks, RUN GRANNY RUN is an unlikely portrait of a remarkable activist and an exploration of our fragile democracy in the corporate age. MoveOn Queens big “Summer Launch” event for our campaign “The Other 98%”. This is a MEETING event. Are you sick of how Big Oil, Wall St. and Big Insurance keep pulling the strings of Congress? Then you’re ready to begin challenging corporate influence to take back OUR government. Solo, your voice is lost in the lobbyists’ din, but as a chorus we can get the attention we need for vital reform. Our strategy is to connect to important groups and candidates who are the voices of the 98% of us who aren’t corporate lobbyists, so we can re-build a government that works for people, not profit.
